The Ideal Companion Pet

The Boston Terrier was bred to be a companion dog, and they do well around children and other pets. They quickly become part of the family, and are happiest when they’re around people. They don’t like to be left to sleep alone in a garage or outside in a doghouse, but because they are a nice, medium size dog, they’re quite comfortable to have in the house. However, because Boston Terriers are “people” dogs that require a lot of time, attention and human contact, they are not for everyone. Boston Terriers are highly intelligent and learn quickly. Their high-spirited, playful nature does require some basic obedience training though, because without it, they might jump on you and perhaps even give little love nips while playing.
