Basset Hound Temperament

The Basset Hound is an exceptional family dog breed. They make excellent pets for children of all ages. They can be stubborn at times, and difficult to train as well. It is best to always make sure to reward them when they do something good, or else they forget the training. They should always be walked with a leash. They are a vocal breed. They howl or bark when they want something. They sometimes will use a low, murmuring whine to beg for food or to get attention. Some Basset hound owners believe their dogs are talking when they do this.
