On Panorama last week (Paedophiles and internet)?
They interveiwed a phsycologist. He said that these people cannot basically comprehend the effects that their actions will have on their victims. And that the only person they can focus on is themselves. Is that the case with most psycologically disturbed people ?(eg. mental abusers.)
have been on receiving end of mental and physical abuse.
i disagree
they know the effect that their actions are going to have on people, but their own "needs" overide other peoples suffering, they might know what theyre doing is wrong, but in their heads the need for it is so strong that other peoples suffering and feelings dont compair in their heads.
i just think they see things, and think about things in a compleatly different way to everyone else. thats how they justify it, because their ideas of the world are warped from our point of view, but in their minds their actions are compleatly justified?

paedophiles crave sexual encounters etc with children-i know its wrong and disgusting but the truth is its as straightforward as me a female adult only fancying male adults-its a sexual preference

If someone is abusing you, you should report them. They may be doing this to someone else. You might need to go into therapy too.Sometimes the effects of abuse don’t show up for years. Good luck.

no it isnt the same for all people with pyschological issues, it depends what the issue is with the person.
some people like to cause harm because they KNOW of the effects and they get pleasure from it. Others cant comprehend their actions effects on other people.
my ex-stepdad broke my dogs leg and blaimed it on me when i was 5. i believe this is because he hoped no one would believe me when i said it was him and so when i said he used to beat me they wouldnt believe that either. he was mentally disturbed and very controlling. this person knew what he was doing and the effect he wanted.
i do not believe that people such as paedophiles will ever be rehabilitated once people get the tatse for something its hard to get them to change especially when the punishment isnt sever enough for the crime and they are allowed back out into society.

I am conflicted on this issue. On one hand, there is the view that they have this attraction which is straightforward to younger children. The biological theory seeks to explain it through different levels of hormones and different functioning in the nervous system. A paraphilia is any sexual behavior which goes against the norms of a society. The psychoanalytic theory believes that paraphilias occurs as a result of psychological defenses against castration anxiety due to Oedipus complex. Exhibitionists display their penis to strangers to prove they have one. Fetishes act as a something to focus sexual pleasure on without getting to close to the female, which is seen as dangerous because their penises have been removed. And transvestites where clothes over there penises to unconsciously prove that women actually have penises (Rathus, p. 593).
The learning theory believes that paraphilias develop as a result of learned behaviors acquired through experiences. Associations are made between sexual pleasure and a stimulus. Breslow described it as a gradual acquisition of sexual arousal of object through sexual fantasies. For example, if a young boy sees his mother’s stockings when he is masturbating, he may associate stockings with sexual pleasure later in life. Masochists may have had an experience when they were little, such as being physically punished for masturbating, and associate pain with psychical pleasure. The sociological theory studies the effect the group and society have on sexually deviant behavior. For example, there is a whole S & M subculture that exists within our bigger culture. It has been theorized that S & M is appealing because it allows people to reverse their typical social roles, a female can be dominant for example. Finally, an integrated view has been created to explain the development of paraphilias. This integrated view theorizes that which stimuli and activity becoming sexually stimulating can be distorted through incest, abuse, neglect, etc. during the lifespan (Rathus, p.593-595).
In other words, there is always an underlying cause for an individual to be attracted to children. I personally believe they are capable of understanding what their victims are feelings, and simply do not care, and even get off on it at times. They are sick individuals who need to not only imprisioned, but helped psychologicaly.

Honestly i think its more.
1) Their own abuse at home.
2) Their own insecurities.
3) Their feeling of power.
They feel like god when they do something and they have the power to basically do what they want to the person, they want the power because they have been ridded of this power by their parents, family members of spouse. and They feel that they have no hope in the world, and hate themselves very much so they do it to give themselves a self of accomplishment.

I too have recieved mental and physical abuse. I think it is all about power and the fact people will do anything for the abuse not to come out by making threats. This shows such behaviour is calculated.
