Why are Drug Abusers Put away but Rapist and Murders set free ?

Politics that is all I can say. Our Justice system is a joke and for me working in the Justice system I see it every day just how unfair and how much Justice isn’t blind like our system is suppose to be. If you have money and can afford a lawyer you get a slap on the hand, but if you don’t have money and only have a public defender you get a completely different sentence. It sad how much it goes on.

drug abusers bring prostitutes, shootings, panhandling, and general deterioration to a neighborhood. It’s like the broken window theory.

Rape is a difficult crime to prove, and the vic may not want to go through the hassle of bringing charges.

I have yo disagree with you on this one. I see drug users every day that get off or out of trouble/jail BECAUSE they are addicts. It makes me very frustrated when I work very hard to put them in jail. Also look at how many rapists and murderers commit their crimes for or because of drugs? I do not think your point is valid. I am sorry.
