While it is not ok to neglect your child, this country (USA, not sure if you are asking about here) prides itself on being free and allowing freedom of expression, religion, ect. It is also the responsiblility of the parent to care for their child, because the child cannot care for themselves. If it is nothing life threatening, they should be able to try whatever treatments they want. Especially if it is something natural.
