Some people claim parents who have kids try alternative medicine are child abusers, your view?

I noticed this suggestion recently on the internet.
With all these studies I keep seeing that say Prescription medications cause higher rates or suicideds and deeper depressions, I would say hell no. Parents who feed their children all these bs pills without ever looking to them are the real abusers.

I think it is up to the parents. While it is not ok to neglect your child, this country (USA, not sure if you are asking about here) prides itself on being free and allowing freedom of expression, religion, ect. It is also the responsiblility of the parent to care for their child, because the child cannot care for themselves. If it is nothing life threatening, they should be able to try whatever treatments they want. Especially if it is something natural. Why take a man-made substance over something that is natural?
