Paralegal Certificate programs
After deciding to pursue a career as a paralegal, it’s important that the paralegal certificate program you enroll in is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA). Most hiring attorneys place a heavy emphasis on this and will most certainly ask about it during an interview. At a minimum, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree, understanding of legal ethics, vocabulary and experience to enroll. In some instances, a minimum GPA may even be required, but that’s not normal.
Other than in California, you can still become a paralegal without a certificate. However, like with other jobs, you will most likely have to make up the difference with experience.
