What is the street value of clonidine im doing a research study about abusers?

January 21, 2010 - 8:05 am 1 Comment

If you have any infomation please help thanks.

Honestly, you wont find an accurate amount. Call police stations for that area.

depending on the area and city the value will be different. For instance, phoenix is a metro and there are many sub cities within it… each city has different values for drugs. This is how all cities are.
For instance, an oxy pill may be 40 dollars in north phoenix but be 25 in south.

Just call the police station and they should tell you with the proper identification.

If you are lying and you are trying to sell illegally the best way to find out ….. is to get out there yourself.

This may be lousy advice but thsi is how i would go about it…. go to a station.

What types of punishment should we dish out to child abusers?

January 18, 2010 - 2:40 am 6 Comments

I would vote for castration and public flogging, and leave them in stocks so they can be stoned by people. Execution should be an option depending on the impact and severity of their actions.
Someone: REHAB DOESNT WORK! THE RATE OF A CHILD ABUSER REOFFENDING IS 80% because abusers are often in denial that they hurt the victim they often blame the victim!
shauna b: I agree the law against these kinds of offenders are way too soft and in no way reflect the damage that has been done on the victim who will be suffering with this for the rest of their lives most probably.

I can’t believe somebody said rehab. Children are the most precious of all earths gifts. If someone abuses their trust how could they ever be rehabilitated? We need to punish these animals!! They are worse than animals they have the gift of reason and choose not to use it!!! Put em away for ever no chance should ever be given to those *&^%^$%* ever again!!

What do you guys feel should happen to child abusers ?

January 14, 2010 - 9:36 am 15 Comments

Also how do you feel when you hear about horrific crimes against small helpless babies? I am majoring in Social Work and I want to work with abused kids and know I will face some really bad situations I am still in training and know that I need to toughen my heart a little because I hear stories I just want to break down and cry and then I wish evil things would happen to the child’s abusers . How do you guys feel?

I started out in social work and couldn’t handle it when I had to counsel a rapist. :/ It takes a really strong person!
Anyways…. I feel they should be given a drug to paralyze them and make them helpless but still able to feel pain and I believe they should be tortured. That’s just me though. :)

What is the percentile of substance abusers who have criminal records in NYC?

December 27, 2009 - 2:37 am 1 Comment

Forgive my not being more explicit of course they would have had to been in treatment in order for us to ascertain if they have a prior criminal record!

Percentile? wrong term.
If they have not been arrested or gone in for treatment you do not know how many drug abusers there are. Ergo, you cannot give a percentage of those with criminal records.
Estimates on numbers of users varies widely, depending on what the estimators view point is.

Are people who watch pornography more likely to become rapists/woman abusers?

December 24, 2009 - 9:26 am 14 Comments

Is pornography part of the reason for the amount of rapists and woman abusers there are?

Rape has existed a lot longer than pornography has. I’ve been enjoying porn since I was a small child, and I’ve never raped or abused a woman.

How do I approach my sexual abusers mom?

December 2, 2009 - 11:15 pm 4 Comments

I’ve been thinking about approaching the mother of the boy who sexually abused me. She was my school teacher and she had me baby-sit her son, who molested me. It has been about 10 years. I’ve gone to counseling and have been working on forgiving him. Do I dare contact her? What should I say to her?
Okay, since people are asking, I was older, but really small & only a few years older. And NO I couldn’t stop him, do you seriously think I could sit there and LET him do that, he was a BIG kid!

im confused, if you were babysitting the child, was he old enough to know what he was doing, and if he was, was there nothing you could do to stop him.

anyways, just pull her aside and explain what happened and make sure she understands the severity.

What are the consequences for animal abusers?

November 30, 2009 - 10:13 am 3 Comments

I am doing a power point presentation on animal abuse and I want to include the consequences people get for abusing, and killing, animals. Thank you all so much.

Usually it’s a fine or less then a year in jail for abuse. For killing an animal it depends. If it was tortured see the first answer, if it was killed and it was on your land and it belonged to someone the cost of the animal to be replaced. If it was wild there is no penalty as long you just kill it and don’t torture it. If it is your animal and you shoot or otherwise kill it quickly then their is no penalty. (Tennessee) Killing a police Dog is a felony in most states.

Not bad enough. People rarely get jail time – sentences are usually good behaviour bonds and fines (in Australia I know of only as Im Aussie).

Trust me – if more of these bastards got jail time you wouldnt see animal abuse so wide spread. And you wouldnt have these twisted little f-ks growing up to torture and abuse children or other humans.

Check on RSPCA or ASPCA websites for more info for your presentation. Also here is a link for ya

What are 3 reasons the Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach is good for substance abusers?

November 11, 2009 - 6:38 am 3 Comments

I am writting an essay on the Cognitive Behavior Therapy and need to prove why it would be a good approach to use on substance abusers. Can anyone suggest 3 reasons, theres not much good information on the net.

I can’t believe I’m doing this….

The Behavioral and Cognitive Views

" According to behaviorists, operant conditioning may play a key role in substance abuse. They argue that the temporary reduction of tension or raising of spirits produced by a drug has a rewarding effect, thus increasing the likelihood that the user will seek this reaction again. Similarly, the rewarding effects of a substance may eventually lead users to try higher dosages or more powerful methods of ingestion. Cognitive theorists further argue that such rewards eventually produce an expectancy that substances will be rewarding, and this expectation helps motivate individuals to increase drug use at times of tension.
In support of these views studies have found that individuals do in fact drink more alcohol or seek heroin when they feel tense."

Cognitive-behavioral therapies

" Two popular approaches combine cognitive and behavioral techniques to help people gain CONTROL over their substance-related behaviors. In one, BEHAVIORAL SELF-CONTROL TRAINING (BSCT), applied to alcoholism in particular, therapists first have clients keep track of their own drinking behavior. Writing down times, locations, emotions, bodily changes, and other circumstances of their drinking, they become more aware of the situations that place them at risk for excessive drinking. They are then taught coping strategies to use when such situations arise. They learn, for example, to set limits on their drinking…and to to practice relaxation techniques, assertiveness skills, and other coping behaviors in situations in which they would otherwise be drinking.
In a related cognitive approach, RELAPSE-PREVENTION TRAINING, heavy drinkers are assigned many of the same tasks as clients in BSCT. They are also taught to plan ahead of time how many drinks are appropriate, what to drink, and under what circumstances. The approach often lowers the frequency of intoxication…"

Could we clear the welfare rolls of abusers if we required work for the welfare benefits right away?

November 3, 2009 - 4:08 am 7 Comments

I’m thinking that taxpaying citizens could sign up for "welfare recipient yard service" or "welfare recipient car washing"…something where the person who is paying the bill gets something in return. Likewise, the welfare recipient gets the sense of earning the pay through work, rather than being able to fill out forms and meet eligibility standards.

Would that chase away people who are just abusing the system, and never intended to work?

I live in the ‘cradle of Civilization", Mississippi. We used to have small factories in the small towns and that is how people worked. They made a little over minimum wage.

Then they started moving them to Mexico for "cheap" labor. Well a small town with 60-100 people out of work lead to welfare. Next large town is 65 miles away.

now i notice on like underwear they are made in the countries south of Russia. We are sending everything out of the country. We are allowing the country to be flooded with folks that will take less to work. So stop them and give the others a job.

I think it is crazy to say you can not find someone to pick say lettuce. What do they pay them. If a person can pick 100 heads an hour and you paid them $10 an hour, then the cost would be 10 cents a head. So instead of paying 99 cents a head, here we would pay $1.09 a head. So I wonder what the people are paid now. Then again they don’t pay FICA, unemployment, workers comp and much more.

The system breeds one parent families. I had a guy with a wife and 4 kids tell me he could get a job at Walmart, but he had a child that needed medical care. He showed me how it was worth $60,000 to stay on welfare and "live" away from his family. Some programs here have free babysitting for single moms to help and also provide a ride to work. this helps them get on their feet.

My point is that we have shipped so much overseas and for what. Like the Micheal Jordan shoes that sold for $100 and only cost $2 to make in China.. It does not cost much to ship them here, but if made here they might cost $10 to make. It just does not add up.

It is like they are trying to make us a welfare state. But that is a good point, I bet a bunch would not show up.

You know Trent Lott, senator of Mississippi just resigned, he will join his son as a lobbyist. Some of the presidential candidates pull in 700,000 plus from lobbyist. the majority leaders the most. Many have sons, daughters and other family memebers on lobbyist payrolls. They also have their families on the payrolls. this is not right and something needs to change. Bring the business back. Just about everything is made under American sluprervision in China now and we know how good that is with the toys. Take care. Merry Christmas.
