Japan on Speed – Japan

August 30, 2009 - 7:37 am 25 Comments

April 1996
Slumped on the floor is a young woman. Not so long ago she tried to throw herself under a car. Now she faces hours of captivity in a padded cell. Her problem is drug abuse. Restless multitudes in Japan are addicted to amphetamines which dates back to World War II when authorities supplied soldiers, factory workers and nurses with stimulants to stretch the nation’s fighting capacity. Today the government is far from drug friendly. ‘Speed’ addicts are dealt with in two ways: they are either thrown into prison or into psychiatric hospitals. Tsuneo Kondo and Father Roy enheimer, reformed addicts have set up a refuge in a Tokyo back alley which has grown into a national self-help movement. The only rules are compulsory attendance at three daily meetings. But at the police drug enforcement division, Hiroto Yamazaki talks tough, “I do not care about rehabilitation because I see drug abusers as criminals.” In prison, addicts receive an overdose of discipline, in hospital they are heavily sedated and charged with electric shocks. Not surprisingly, Kondo worries that “without support they will die.”

Why do certain women stay in abusive (emotional, physical, etc.) relationships?

August 29, 2009 - 3:17 pm 3 Comments

They can leave but they go back to the guy time and time again. I’ve never heard an explanation from a psychological standpoint before. Why is it that many women go back to abusers?

Abusive relationships are not just about the violence- there is usually a whole lot of psychological abuse that accompanies it, of a type that makes the women (or men- it’s not always women as the victims of such abuse) feel that it was/is their fault, that if they only had done X, they wouldn’t have needed such punishment. They are dependent on them, and feel like having someone, even someone who abuses them, is better than nothing. And after a while, it becomes something normal, something expected, almost, where they are able to justify it even more in their minds.

It’s a hard, hard thing to leave an abuser.

if an 18 year old is an alcohol abuser with mental problems, and he elects to go into a program like daytop?

for 5 months and the judge agrees, will he still have to be punished for jumping a turnstile and stealing a car?

I would say no, because judges have no backbone and are really lenient on idiots now-a-days. But I wouldn’t if I were a judge, only because I had one of my cars stolen before and I wanted to kill the person who did it.

Political Animal abusers in malta that abuse cows chained to a stone wall a village zejtun malta?

August 29, 2009 - 3:17 pm 2 Comments

This local family who owns a gravel pit and breeds cows in malta are animals abusers and keep a cow chained to wall as these animals are abused and should be put down or removed from the island of malta. They think that what they are doing to animal is right instead its is wrong.

oh i heard that the breed that lives in zejtun is the worst in the island lol!

joking apart…. no animals should not be left chined to a stone wall….

however to ‘put down’ or ‘removed from the island’ i think is going too far dont you think so??? they would just do what they were doing here somewhere else…. so i think the best option would be to fine them a hefty sum! in that way they remember better what being cruel to animals resulted in!

If you spot a child abuser, what would you do. plz give me statistic in number if u can?
